Exploring Northern Ireland | Circling Loch Earn | January and February | Monthly Vlog 55

In January 2025 we were still in Northern Ireland. I managed to capture some Northern Lights and the frost and snow came in to paint the landscape in pastel colours. I captured some great sunsets and sunrises. We visited a new Dolmen, Slidderyford Dolmen. We went wild swimming quite a few times, at the Yellow Water, but also at the Bloody Bridge in Newcastle with the Mourne Mountains as the backdrop. After the cold plunge we checked in for our seaweed bath at Soak. Amazing day. We had one whole day of adventure when we drove out to Strangford Lough to visit Castle Espie, which has great bird watching facilities and wetlands, Nendrum Ecclesiastical Site, where monks used to live self-sufficiently, and Mahee Castle, a soldier's 16th century tower house. We also stopped off in Killyleagh to look at the castle, but it's a private house. In the middle of January we returned to Scotland and visited our familiar spots (Deuchny Wood, Loch of the Lowes). But Conor had an appointment in St Fillans and I took the opportunity to walk along the shore of Loch Earn. We ended up driving around the whole loch, stopping at various places along the way to explore or just to get a view of the landscape.
