The Christian worship service of the United Church of Colchester, at 900 Main Street in Colchester, Vermont for Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025. We had a wonderful gathering of members, friends and visitors for candlelight worship, wonderful music and fellowship. On this Christmas Eve 2025, we lit the Christ candle, while our evening meditation, entitled "Christmas Light" was delivered by our pastor, Rev. Russell Willis. This was interwoven with the reading of the Christmas story in Isaiah 9: 2-7 and Luke 2: 1-20, and singing of favorite hymns of the season. We were also blessed by the instrumental music of Jessica Christian, Rick Whittlesey and Johanna Prong. From the founding of the original church on this location in 1804, we remain committed to following in the way of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and bearing witness to the coming Kingdom of God through our life together. A Christ centered family oriented community church, we are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire. We strive to be a church family, caring for each other, our community, and through our supported missions and ministries, the world beyond. We are happy that you found us, and invite you to come back and worship with us often, either in person, or online at this YouTube channel. Our Pastor's Benediction poem for this Christmas Eve service: PONDERING THESE THINGS Cradled in her arms Safe for now Warm for now For now is before Squirming to her voice Very small Full of life As is forever Filling her heart Now a child Now her child But, oh, what will be?
