Hello friends! I was gifted a bunch of commercially prepared merino roving or combed top. And you know this is not my favorite type of fiber for spinning. So today I'm trying to remedy that; what can I do with this Merino fiber to make it into something that I will spin with joy and ease? I know! Let's put it through the drumcarder with some Flemish sheep and Belgian milksheep. The carding and blending of the fibers turns it into a more crunchy batt, which is also more visually appealing. And then we spin it in a woolen way, a long draw way, apparently. Because that is what this wool wanted to be spun in. And handspinners always listen to the wool, right?
