Hurricane Erin was the 5th named storm, 1st hurricane, 1st major, and the 1st category 5 hurricane of the 2025 Season, also being a long lived storm. Erin started off the coast of Africa, crossing through the Cape Verde islands, causing over $1M and 9 fatalities. Erin was then named, and struggled for a the first portion of it's life. Once it reached hurricane status, it exploded to category 5 status. It then weakened to C3 status, and briefly regained C4 status. 1 person died in the Dominican Republic. Erin weakened to C2 status east of the Bahamas. As it passed the northeast, flooding occurred in North Carolina, and thankfully no fatalities happened. 2 more fatalities did occur from the storm, 1 in New York, the other in New Hampshire. Erin became a powerful EX on the 26th, and died off on the 27th. Erin lasted 11 days as a tropical cyclone, and 5 days as an EX.
