Mud, Mechanicals & Mayhem: Mountain Biking in Trumbull, CT

Today we’re riding Pequonnock River Valley State Park in Trumbull, CT. As singletracks.com aptly points out this place goes by many names, but we typically just refer to it as Trumbull. There is a lot of riding in this park but over the years we’ve come up with a loop that we enjoy. We kick things off with the yellow trail. This trail parallels the red trail, and while the yellow trail is less technical than the red, it still has challenging and fast sections without being too taxing while you still warm up. Man that downhill is fun! Trumbull has little hidden gems all over the park. Keep your eyes pealed and you’ll see build up jumps, drops, rollers, and all types of fun challenges to play on. Once you hit the end of the yellow and red trails you can climb up to the road and then drop into a section that I believe is called Indian Ledge. Some magic trail fairy has been working hard in this section of Trumbull bringing us sweet new features, most of which I am too scared to even look at, let alone ride. A very special thanks to whomever has been working on this section of trails. Keep up the awesome work you are doing. I can’t wait to find out what new goodies you’ll have out there next time I ride! Anyway, today’s ride goes on for a bit longer, but we’ll end with the pump house trail. This trail is about as simple as it gets. You climb up, then BOMB DOWN!
