Cockpit Shot With Green Laser | KFXE to KDVK | Caribbean Vacation Leg 8

Customs at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was a breeze and we're on our way heading north to Chicago stopping quickly for fuel in Kentucky. After a typical Florida clearance reroute we were on our way and airborn. On our way north we catch a beautiful sunset before getting ready for our approach into KDVK when we experienced a first for us -- a radio callout alerting us to lasers being shot at planes in the area. Sure enough, about thirty minutes later during our approach into Kentucky we were one of those very planes. The laser was several miles away however was being shot for about 60 seconds directly at us. A few times, they managed to actually hit our front window and one of the times it fully illuminated the cockpit. Aside from ruining my night vision, my eyes actually had a very strange blurry burning sensation for some time afterwards. Having our plane shot with a laser was definitely a first for us and something I hope we don't experience again anytime soon.
