DARTMOOR TOUR FEATURING HAYTOR, WIDECOMBE-IN-THE-MOOR AND HOUND TOR "Haytor to Hound Tor” Filmed 30th October 2017 Post-production completed 19th January 2018 *Contains some swearing* I present the first of the final three films shot in 2017. This is also the first of three films to have been shot in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. I spent much of 2017 driving down to North Somerset to stay with a relative there, so whilst staying in the area I was able to make several films in that county as well as other places within easy reach, which included parts of North Devon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. However, I never thought I would ever make any films in Dartmoor, but I just happened to come across a good deal at the Travelodge at Whiddon Down near Okehampton for a couple of nights at the end of October. Whiddon Down was about a 90-minute drive from my relative in North Somerset, so I decided to book the two nights in the aforementioned Travelodge and make Dartmoor my next location in which to film. In this film I visit one of Dartmoor’s best known landmarks, Haytor, which I felt would be a great introduction to the area. Other locations visited are the pretty village of Widecombe in the Moor and Hound Tor, which is believed to have inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write his most famous novel. It has been a real bonus to have visited this part of Devon in which to make a film, so I am extremely proud to make available my very first film of “The Solitary Rambler” in Dartmoor. Filmed in the county of Devon. Locations include Haytor, Widecombe-in-the-Moor and Hound Tor. This is the first film in Dartmoor. Written, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach. Any other names credited in this film, i.e. Bob Morgan and Martin Roy, are pseudonyms, which I used at the time of making this film. However, I no longer use these pseudonyms as I want viewers to be clear that my films are completely my own work.
