The Dynasty of Dhaak is a Mandalorian ensemble that channels the spirit of ancient war songs and lost lore into powerful, tribal-infused rock anthems. Named for the once-proud Dhaak clan, the group preserves the memory of revered armorers, forgers, and lore-keepers whose halls were slaughtered during a brutal struggle for the seat of Mandalore. Though the clan’s enemies were eventually destroyed by Dhaak’s surviving allies, the family’s legacy came perilously close to extinction. The band’s lead singer, Garhan Dhaak, is one of the few surviving heirs. His voice howls with anger, loss, and pride, supported by whispering chants that evoke the spirits of the fallen. The remaining members blend traditional Mandalorian instruments with modern rock elements, creating music that is both timeless and fiercely contemporary. “To War Mando’ade” reconstructs an ancient Mandalorian war chant from the Mandalorian Crusades, calling for all Mandalorians to fight in honor of their people. The lyrics, translated from Mando'a: [Intro] Oooh, war. [Verse 1] So it is time. Yes, it is time. The time has come. The word has arrived. Say goodbye. Sharpen your beskad, And stand armored by morning. [Bridge] Beskad high, in sunny sky, Remember the dead, And fight for the living! [Chorus] Oya! Oya! Mandalorians! We go to war, We go to war, Indeed, we go to war! Fight well, and if you die, Die with honor, Mandalorians! We go to war, my brothers and sisters! (To war!) [Verse 2] Man and woman, all Mandalorians, Side by side, together as one. Do not hesitate, do not retreat, We need you here. Choose to hide or fight; They can only change how they die. (To war!) [Verse 3] We know no defeat, we know only victory. We attack in honor, we defend with honor, And we do not die. We are wrath, we are vengeance, We are the flame that never goes out. [Chorus] Oya! Oya! Mandalorians! We go to war, We go to war, Indeed, we go to war! Fight well, and if you die, Die with honor, Mandalorians! We go to war, my brothers and sisters! (To war!) [Verse 4] You are Mandalorian, you are the best of the best. You need no luck, you need no hope. You have strength, you have beskar. Carve your end with bloodied blade. Truth is this: Luck you take; nobody gives it to you. [Outro Chorus] Oya! Oya! Mandalorians! We go to war, We go to war, Indeed, we go to war! Fight well, and if you die, Die with honor, Mandalorians! We go to war, my brothers and sisters! (To war!) [Outro] Oya, brothers and sisters! We go to war! Yes, we go to war! War, war, war! NOTE: While there is no official "canon" grammar for Mando’a, many communities across the world have worked hard to expand and develop the language further. I have great respect for those who have learned and practiced those versions. This song was written in a way that could be loosely translated, but it is not meant to represent grammatically precise Mando’a. Please see it instead as a loving interpretation. My hope is that, whether or not you’re fluent in Mando’a, you can still enjoy the song and the spirit it carries — perhaps imagining it as an ancient dialect, or a cultural accent.
