In a peaceful, green neighborhood near the gardens of Shahriar, just outside Tehran, there’s a small home-style catering kitchen where real southern Iranian flavors come to life every day. Far from the noise of the city, this place feels calm, friendly, and deeply comforting — the kind of place locals trust for their daily meals. At the heart of this kitchen is Baran Yaghoobi, a passionate Iranian woman and professional chef from Abadan, one of southern Iran’s most warm-hearted and culturally rich cities. After years of working as a chef in some of Tehran’s most well-known restaurants, including Shandiz Galleria and Karabo in Zafaranieh, she made a bold decision: to leave the luxury restaurant scene and start her own home catering business close to where she lives. Baran is a specialist in authentic southern Iranian cuisine, cooking dishes exactly the way they are made in the south of Iran — rich, bold, and full of soul. Her food carries the real taste of Abadan, shaped by years of experience, deep cultural roots, and genuine love for cooking. One of her most famous admirers was Iranian actor Hamid Farrokhnejad, who often personally called Baran to order his meals because of her unmatched skill in southern dishes. His encouragement played a key role in inspiring her to open her own kitchen. Today, Baran runs this place almost entirely on her own, with the help of two dedicated teammates — a former head chef of a historic Tehran hotel handling the kebabs, and a young assistant who helps with everything from preparation to cleaning. Together, they work in perfect harmony, creating a space filled with respect, focus, and quiet determination. In this video, you’ll see the preparation of beloved Iranian dishes such as Ghalieh Meygoo (southern shrimp stew), grilled stuffed fish with rice, Ghormeh Sabzi, Zereshk Polo with chicken, Koobideh kebab, and Joojeh kebab. Most of the food here is prepared for takeaway, serving local families, companies, and workers who rely on this kitchen every day. More than just a place to eat, this kitchen represents resilience, passion, and the power of homemade food to bring people comfort. By the end of this video, you won’t just see Iranian food — you’ll feel a quiet, human connection with the people behind it, and a sense of calm that stays with you long after the meal is served.
