A visit to the Portuguese Village in Melaka (Malacca) / KAMPUNG PORTUGIS / MALAYSIA TRAVEL VLOG

Today I visit something like Little Portugal (Portuguese Settlement or Kampung Portugis) in Ujong Pasir, Melaka (Malacca), Malaysia! This is where the Kristang people live! The Kristang are a ethnic group of people that are a mix of Portuguese, Malay, Indian and/or even Dutch descent found in Malaysia and Singapore. They are also called Portugese-Eurasian. This group has a very unique culture, traditions, food, and even language. They speak Kristang language (Old Portuguese language with a mix of Malay), Malay and English (mostly). I talked to one woman who is obviously also of Indian decent but I have seen lots of different people, some fairer than others. I also wanted to get some food but all the restaurants were closed for some reason... so left out that great baked fish that everybody talks about...
