** TODAY'S PUZZLE ** We're continuing our series of incredibly long and difficult sudokus that have generated a lot of requests from viewers. In this one, Simon tackles an old puzzle by TotallyNormalCat called Broken Secrets. Although the video is slightly "shorter", it is worth emphasising that this is an incredibly clever puzzle. Simon's method of tackling it is definitely a good way to solve this one. On his 45th birthday he decided to revisit his childhood toys and found out the cages broke! Help him put them together to reveal the secrets of the universe! Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely intentional. Normal sudoku rules apply. There are 18 cages in the grid. Digits cannot repeat within a cage. Each cage has exactly one partner such that, when combined together, they would form a valid 9-cell cage (ie containing no repeated digits). Along a thermometer, digits must increase from the bulb end.
