Wildpics Out and About: Chasing Kingfishers on the Vidourle River

During the last few days of 2017, we were fortunate to spend a great day paddling on the Vidourle River in Southern France. It was a gorgeous winter day on the water photographing birds and in particular Kingfishers. These feathered jewels are fascinating to watch and a challenge to photograph from a canoe. On this outing we were using our 16.5 Packboat, and for camera gear we wanted to keep things to a minimum so we took our canon 7D mark II with an 18-135 mm and our 7D with a 70-200 mm. in addition we used our Gopro’s 3 and 4 to play in the clear water. As always it’s great to get out and about. And what better way to spend a winter day than on the water enjoying the sun, a picnic, and photographing wildlife!
