A great day out waterfall hunting in Tasmania's far North West. The Dip Falls are located in Mawbanna. It's fairly famous to the area so it's well sign posted and easy to find. There is a walk down a few flights of stairs to reach the viewing pad at the base and another lookout at the top of the falls which is suitable for wheel chair access. The water flow varies a lot depending on recent rainfall. To find Little Dip Falls, go a little further up the road until you get to the Big Tree junction. Follow the right hand side road for around 200 meters until you see water flowing under a culvert. Enter the forest to the right after the culvert and follow the river downstream, taking care to tread lightly in this unique bit of forest. There is no track but it's relatively open, becoming steeper near the falls. When we went there was quite a bit of debris near the base which made getting a vantage point for photos a bit tricky. It should take around 10-15 minutes to reach the falls. Gibson Creek Falls are located south of Forest. I can't really say exactly what roads we took but I wouldn't attempt it without knowing exactly how to find them as you'll be navigating several forestry roads and it would be quite easy to get lost. I've visited these falls on a previous occasion and the creek was pretty much dry. So if you're wanting to see these falls, I would suggest that you take a guide or at least have a very good map and you're better off going after decent rainfall.
