Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art presents “Double Jeu,” a solo exhibition by Portuguese artist André Cepeda, on view from January 30th. “Double Jeu” explores duality in both form and content, inviting viewers to engage with two interwoven realities within the exhibition space. The show includes a special collaborative piece with renowned architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça and demonstrates Cepeda’s ongoing investigation into perception, space, and representation. The exhibition features curatorial collaboration from Joerg Bader, director of the Centre de la Photographie in Geneva, and includes the gallery text “Inadequacies” by researcher Christiane Vollaire, who notes: “(…) the work gives rise to a genuine concern about the doubling of our mathematical and societal modernity, with all their faults, cracks and shocks, with all their left-behinds and after-effects. And the images’ rigour helps avoid complacency about these ruins or our miserabilist voyeurism.” In this video, viewers are guided through André Cepeda’s studio and hear curators Christiane Vollaire and Joerg Bader discuss the conceptual vision and philosophical context of “Double Jeu,” offering a deep insight into the artist’s creative process and exhibition.
