11/2/2025 marked the last TVRM double header for the year but also the end of Southern 2-8-0 #630’s operational days (for now) due to her being at the end of her 1472 FRA inspection. While this is not the end for this engine it will be a hiatus for a while while 2-8-2 #4501 fills in for the engine. Many people both railfans and crew are deeply going to miss this engine, but in good time she’ll come back better than either. As a proper send off the crew let 630 sing her song of stack talk and the V&SW 3 chime one last time on Sunday from Grand Junction station in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Summerville, Georgia and back while the last bit of the fall foliage remained.
