Shorter Pilates class focused on engaging and strengthening our core and abdominal muscles. Difficulty: Moderate Length: 22 minutes This is a short mat-based class focused on engaging and strengthen our core and abdominal muscles. The class begins in sitting and then continues into four-point kneeling, onto our sides and onto our backs. The class includes a range of exercises so please remember to work to a level that feels suitable for you, especially with more challenging movements. This class includes: Sitting spine twist, mermaid and ‘Y’ stretch Four-point kneeling swimming tuck and tap Leg pull in prone to pike Child pose stretch Side plank with clam Side fold and stretch One leg stretch Diamond and double leg stretch Dead bug Rotation stretch Sitting – glute stretch, seated mermaid and upper body reach The class begins in sitting warming up with a spine twist, mermaid and ‘y’ stretch. We then continue in four-point kneeling with a swimming tuck and tap and then into a combined leg pull in prone and pike movement. We then stretch out into a child pose stretch before moving onto our sides. On our sides we engage our obliques and glutes with a combined side bend and clam then into a fold and stretch movement. We then move down onto our backs on the mat and continue to challenge our core and abdominals with a one leg stretch, diamond and double leg stretch and dead bug movements. We then begin to cool down with a rotation stretch, then into sitting with a glute, mermaid and upper body reach stretches. ________________________________ Interested in more Pilates?
