This match featured friends from the JB gang and the KL gang, including several “naturalized” players. The three-day golf outing took place from January 13–15, 2026, across Melaka’s scenic courses. Day 1 was played at A’Famosa Golf Resort, Day 2 at Ayer Keroh Golf & Country Club, and the final round—featured in this video—at Orna Golf & Country Club. This was the second series of the JB vs. KL battle. The first series, held in the last quarter of 2024, was won by the JB team. This time, the KL team came in far better prepared, fielding a stronger lineup thanks to their tireless captain, who clearly does not accept defeat easily. The JB team, meanwhile, introduced some new faces while still maintaining a core of Johor-born local players. Having tasted victory before, the JB team may not have been as desperate as the KL team—but they certainly weren’t going down without a fight. Game Format Combined team score – 1 point Best individual score – 1 point Example 1: 4 players (2 vs. 2) Best individual score earns 1 point Lowest combined team score earns 1 point Best score rules: Par, bogey, or worse = 1 point Birdie = 2 points Example 2: 6 players (3 vs. 3) Count the best 2 scores from each team Everyone plays. At the end of the day, golf is not just a game—it’s a long-term commitment to friendship. It’s one of the few sports you can play from age five well into your 60s and beyond. We’ve just wrapped up our three-day annual battle in Melaka: the Southerners (JB gang) versus the Northerners (mostly the KL gang). Twelve of us, across three flights, came together once again for our second matchup. A gentle reminder—yes, the JB gang won the last series and had tasted victory before. It was never just about what happened on the golf course. The real highlights were the friendly banter, laughter, great food, great company, and the brotherhood built and strengthened during our stay together. Winning is really just about bragging rights until the next series. Congratulations to the KL team—their “naturalization program” clearly worked. Until the next showdown, I’ll be cherishing these great memories.
