Pell Run Campsite Recon on the North Country Trail

In this installment, I’ll take you on a short hike to show you the Pell Run campsite which is right along the North Country Trail at about PA trail mile 229.3. I camped here in 2022 and really enjoyed it’s location. However, the night we stayed there we occasionally got a wiff of gas or methane from the wells that are nearby. It may have just been due to the temperature or relative humidity that night because I have day hiked here several times and never noticed any odor. Watch clear to the end to see how I dodged a bullet or perhaps getting locked in where I was parked. Had I driven as far as I could have who’s to know if the person who left me the note would have seen my Jeep and locked the gate. Crisis averted !! Got lucky this time. Thanks for watching.
