A successful cost-effective model for waste management T’Puram: When during a time the waste management has become a head ache in the state, a young entrepreneur’s successful initiative of promoting the decentralized waste management is getting international acclaim. Dr A Saji Dasan’s cost-effective biogas plant turns the solid and water wastes to useful fuel. He has been in the business for the last 15 years and a domestic plant cost only Rs 10,000 with State and Central government subsidies. According to Saji a plant would help produce a domestic consumer 50% of fuel needed for his household need. Saji has got many international awards for his successful innovation and countries like Sweden, Malaysia and Mauritius are already implemented the various units of the plant.
