At About 3:38 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024, Officers assigned to the Area A-7 and A-1 Drug Control unit, Everett Police Drug Control Unit, and Chelsea Police, conducted a stop of Justin Palma, 21, of Everett at Locke St. and Webster Ct. in Chelsea, to execute search warrants for his body and his motor vehicle. At the time of the stop, Justin Palma was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license. While executing the search warrant issued for his body, officers found Palma to be in possession of a loaded 9mm large capacity (capable of holding 16 rounds) Smith and Wesson semi-automatic firearm. Officers observed that there had been an attempt to remove the serial number from the firearm with visible scratches over the serial number. Officers were unable to find information of the firearm in CJIS. Palma will be arraigned in the East Boston District Court and charged with the following: Carrying Firearm without a License, Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without License, Possession Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without FID Card, Possession of a Defaced Serial Number on a Firearm, and Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle.
