Although not victorious, Ren seems to have gained a bit of a following. Opportunities like this don’t happen often, so he needs to capitalize on this. But how? Wait, what’s this? A tournament where SWA’s top talent are competing for a number one contender shot versus Light Heavyweight Champion, Blood Angel! Perfect! If Kurohane can win the title, then surely the higher offices of New Japan will take notice, and make him a top star! Oh and it looks like Takaya is in the tournament as well. Maybe Ren will be able to get some payback on his SWA rival? [Character Info] Ren Kurohane is a young wrestler from Japan looking to make an impact on the scene. He’s someone who looks up to wrestlers like Liger, Ultimo Dragon, The Great Muta, and many others who have come before him. His American influences are Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Edge, and Chris Jericho. Finn Balor (Prince Devitt) is another great influence. So he has a ton of respect for the business. In the beginning he was considered optimistic, but later he became more ego driven. If given the chance he would definitely seize the opportunity to strike. Think of a grounded ROH high-flyer (a grounded flyer I know lol), mixed with that Japanese flair. Being a heel is where he truly shines I would say. In that mode he’s the “Black Falcon.” A methodical and cold ego maniac who believes “The skies belong to him.” Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe! Episode Review/Thoughts: I said before in the description of the last episode, that I wished that Fire Pro (Spike Chunsoft) had gotten another licensed wrestling company apart of their game. NJPW and Stardom are both awesome obviously, but I wish we had got one more company. Maybe ROH or TNA? A spot that could’ve perfectly fit in the place of SWA. A wrestling company that has some notoriety in America. I’m a tad taken aback when I’m playing something that is somewhat based in reality but goes back to fantasy. I think SWA has a history with Fire Pro games and I understand. However, again I’d have preferred another (real) wrestling company. Though I made this big pope speech lol, this is just a tiny nitpick I have with the game’s story mode/campaign. [Match Evaluations] Vs. Blood Angel, Mr. Cobra, Sam Blocks - Match Evaluation = 90% Vs. Leonardo Pascual - Match Evaluation = 98% Vs. Takaya Himomiya - Match Evaluation = 85% (I had to go back and re-do this match specifically because I mistakenly didn’t capture my first match, so yeah. If you’re following along with the play-through to somehow match yours, then you’ll end up where I went. Where you might ask? Patience grasshopper, patience.)
