Once there I got to walk around the ruins of an old palace and climb some of the well preserved towers and bastions belonging to the fortification - which considering its age is still in top condition. Lisbon Castle (also known as Saint George's Castle) has a history that dates back to the fifth century CE and has endured its fair share of updates, modifications, improvements and renovations. These days it’s a popular tourist attraction and if you can make it up the hill you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much there is to see.
