North wales family walks Newborough Forest Newborough forest in the west of anglesey north wales is a important conservation site with high numbers of red squirrels. With vast woodland and walking running and cycling paths it’s a nice day out whatever your chosen activity. The paths for walking are good though on the beach the soft sand and gravel make prams and buggy’s harder to get around a back carrier is a better idea. If your heading out to the small island (ynys llanddwyn) there is some steeper and rougher sections so those with limited mobility will find some areas harder to traverse. There is times for the tides in the main car park so please be careful check your times before heading across or you might find yourself with a long wait to get back. With 2 old lighthouse’s and the ruins of st Dwynwen church there’s plenty to look at with the beautiful sea views it’s worth the walk out. There’s a small snack bar that serves food with homemade cakes which are delicious 😉 after a nice walk. The car park works on a camera parking system so your car rig is recorded and you pay on your way out it’s worth noting the only toilets are in the main car park as well The postcode for the car park is Ll61 6sg The maximum charge for The car park is £7 but we had our walk through the woods and Out to the Island and lunch and it cost £4.
