Training is hard but I'm doing it and getting stronger every day. The first time I hiked the Appalachian Trail was in 2023, when I was 64. That saying, "Age is just a number." Well, it's only half true. It is just a number ... but the other half of that saying is this ... make the most of the age that you have. Train, work hard, be committed, believe in yourself, have some faith, take it maybe a little slower than others, and get OFF THE COUCH! If you're apathetic, stop. If you're unmotivated, just start. Take a leap of faith and try going one mile, three miles. It may start off slow, but the mileage and strength, ability, will pick up. If I can do it, so can you. Remember, it's never too late to start your hiking journey. And by the way, it's really not a journey, it's an adventure! Advice: I checked in with my doctor before I started. You may want to do the same to reassure yourself or perhaps change / improve something your doctor may be concerned about. Train safely. Now, let's get moving!
