Double clicks are tough, but they’re nothing to be afraid of. I used to avoid putting them in my choreography because I was afraid of missing them, but we all know how important it is to face our fears… do try to give yourself no choice but to practice them by putting them in your choreography. I find that's the best way to improve! Before you get started, grab yourself two chairs. This will help you to wrap your mind around which way your feet & legs have to move & how you land on the floor. In this class, we’ll work on 2 styles of double clicks. Our first one has 4 beats & our second has 6 beats. My key technique tips: Heels are out. Toes are pointed down. Legs are nice & straight. Bend your knees to help you get up off the floor during the preparation. This will increase your time in the air. What has really helped me improve? When I realised I could bend my knees during the preparation. Get low. This will help your height off the ground & should give you more time to hit the clicks in the air. Also, rather than keeping the clicks underneath my body, I try to separate my legs to make my clicks a bigger movement. This has helped me when it comes to the timing!
