Once upon a time, Disney promised us that they wouldn't influence Marvel Comics. That, of course, was a lie. After few years, Marvel created a "new" female hero, Captain Marvel. To do that, they transformed the original Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) into a completely different character. They changed her personality, design and gave her an incredibly stupid haircut. They also changed her origin story to mitigate any importance the original Captain Marvel had in it. New Captain Marvel was written the same way any modern Disney female hero is now. Invincible and flawless amalgam of misguided "feminist" values. Disney/Marvel planned to make their version of Carol Danvers the new face of their MCU. They wanted her to lead the Avengers, but her place in their universe was never earned. Ironically, Captain Marvel movie is the first step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's inevitable demise. In reality, there is only one Carol Danvers, the one before Disney took over. She will never be Captain Marvel to me. That name was stolen from Mar-Vell by a usurper who tainted his legacy forever. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was the best Marvel animated show ever created. It's a lot like the MCU, but with more consistent worldbuilding and better characters. There are some plot conveniences, but the writers understand cause and effect. Every action and every choice characters make have consequences, and they clearly care very deeply about the source material. If you miss classic Loki, Vision without Wanda, want to see how Ultron and Kang the Conquerer should be portrayed, and really miss the real Hulk, this is the show for you. The writers did an amazing job with the characters we know from comics.
