Squirrel Shenanigans While Waiting for the Cafe to Open

2-15-26 This is a little video of what went on from dawn until I managed to get the cafe table set up in the morning. I haven't been getting up earlier as the sun rises earlier, so the squirrels have been getting a bit testy waiting for the increasingly tardy human to stagger out the door. Minnie makes an appearance or two, which she only just recently started to do in the mornings. For the past month, she's been coming only in the afternoon. Her babies must be getting old enough that she can leave them alone in the morning now. I'm guessing their eyes are open - it's been about 6 weeks since she gave birth at the beginning of January. The other squirrels in the video are a few boys who come every morning for nuts. One I call Max (he is missing tufts of fur from his tail). Another is Pete, and there are a couple more that I don't have names for. They are largely a new crew of squirrels that I think must be from the spring and summer litters last year.
