#77 - A Cool-er Week | Work Heats Up at Our Renovation Project as Cooler Summer Days Arrive

The summer heat finally relented a bit this week, meaning we even woke up to a few cloudy mornings! This gave us the chance to continue work on the barn renovation and start with the installation of the TWO (thank you, everyone!) new roof trusses. Becci also came out of the shed (!) to help finish off the tidying up of all the wood storage - including the salvaged floorboards and prepping next winter's firewood. And we even take some time to bring the smoked wooden door from the old bread oven room back to life. About Us 🏚️👫🏼🐈🐕🐕 We're Michael & Becci (the humans) and Tilly (sassy English tortoiseshell cat), Alfie and Anoushka (Portuguese rescue dogs). After four years in Portugal and numerous dreams about renovating our own property, we've taken the plunge and are renovating a schist stone house and its outbuildings in Figueiró dos Vinhos. We're doing most of the work ourselves (or... Michael is!) and we'll be stepping back in time to create a character property with as many original features and antiques as possible.
