Police Report: On January 8, 2023, at approximately 11:23pm, I, Trooper X. Echeverria Vidal/4713 while on routine patrol on 1-295 southbound, I observed a white Kia traveling south in the outside (right) travel lane, at a high rate of speed passing all traffic without any lights. The Kia then exited onto Wilson Avenue where it turned left (east) on Wilson Avenue into the left turning lane towards the northbound on-ramp of I-295 northbound. As I approached the Kia, it began to turn onto the on-ramp (northbound) where it increased speed rapidly. I continued to overtake the Kia, as I closed the distance, I observed it was baring a Florida tag of Y749TG. I was able to pace clock the Kia at a sustained speed of 99 mph. the vehicle continued north on the center lane, approaching Normandy Boulevard. The Kia then began to accelerate pulling away passing the interchange towards 1-10. I then informed JRCC of the failure to stop, initiating a pursuit. The Kia then continued north on 1-295 towards Commonwealth Boulevard, while changing lanes, from the inside to the outside and back. The Kia continued at a high rate of speed {116 mph) north passing Pritchard Road. The Kia continued north passing all traffic until and performing evasive maneuvers. the Kia then exited onto New Kings Road, where it continued south. As it approached the intersection of Wagner Road, it crossed the center median, turning left into Wagner Road. The Kia then immediately entered the Mobile gas station at 8735 New Kings Road. It then drove through the gas station exiting onto New Kings Road northbound lanes. I then took the I-295 northbound on-ramp continuing north towards Dunn Avenue. The Kia continued traveling at a high rate of speed while performing evasive maneuvers until approaching the exit to Dunn Avenue. When the Kia exited the ramp, it immediately crossed the center grass median continuing east on the westbound lanes. As it approached Campus Boulevard, the Kia slowed and began to perform a U-turn. I then conducted a median crossing heading west behind the Kia in the westbound lanes. As I approached the Kia, it suddenly entered the Median again performing a U-turn into the southern shoulder and heading eastbound on Dunn Avenue. I then conducted a median crossing heading east behind the Kia. The Kia then continued eastbound on Dunn Avenue at high rate of speed, continuing to perform evasive maneuvers and almost colliding with traffic in the roadway. As the Kia approached the intersection of Lem Turner Road, it. slowed then turned right onto Lem Turner Road. I then stopped on the red traffic signal while observing the Kia continue south on. Lem Turner Road, in the northbound lanes. The Kia continued south on Lem Turner Road, before crossing onto the southbound lanes around Leonid Road. As the Kia passed Capper Road, it slowed then suddenly turned left onto the entrance of The Place at Capper Landing (Apartment community) 10535 Lem Turner Road. As the Kia turned left, it performed a wide turn driving over the raised curb and into the wood to the south of the roadway where it collided with a tree. I then turned left on to drive where I observe multiple occupants exiting the vehicle and run southeast into the woods. I informed JRCG of the fleeing suspects, then approached the Kia where I observed a Black male, later identified by NCIC/FCIC and David as Jason Myers, in the rear right passenger seat. I then observed Mr. Myers reaching for an object and commanded him to show his hands and step out of the vehicle. As Mr. Myers continued to search the inside of the vehicle, I observed Mr. Myers dazed from the Collison while giving verbal commands. I then took the opportunity to approach Mr. Myers from the passenger side door. When I opened the rear passenger side door, I observed a pistol at the feet of Mr. Myers. I then pulled Mr. Myers out of the vehicle where he then began resisting my attempts to place him in hand cuffs by pulling away from me and attempting to run. A search of the vehicle reviled a Glock 19 piston SN: BRFL32 (not stolen), a Glock 22 SN: SDK623 (confirmed stolen) confirmed stolen by JRCC and an AK style rifle SN: PAC1149389. Which were all found in the rear right passenger partition where Mr. Myers was sitting. Found by Trooper K. Fanfan. All three weapons were loaded with a round chambered. A subsequent search of the area assisted by JSO resulted in no other suspects being apprehended at this time. Mr. Myers was placed under arrest at the scene and Mirandized at the scene where he refused to speak to me. JRCC advised that Mr. Myers had a felony conviction on 5/5/2022. Mr. Myers was then transported to UF Health of Jacksonville where he was absentee booked into Duval County Jail.
