The Press Club of Long Island delves into the good, the bad and the ugly of AI. Jay Allred, Nikita Roy and Zachary Richner join this panel discussion, moderated by PCLI treasurer Jeff Bessen. Jay Allred is co-founder of Lede AI, an artificial intelligence startup developed inside a local newsroom. Lede AI builds reliable, easy-to-use automation tools for newsrooms informed by the needs of readers, journalists and communities. Nikita Roy is a data scientist, journalist, and Harvard-recognized AI futurist. She is currently a Knight Fellow at the International Center for Journalists, focusing on AI literacy in the news industry. Additionally, she leads the AI Journalism Lab at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, which was launched with support from Microsoft. ' Zachary Richner is the founder and managing partner of Arrandale Ventures, a media-for-equity venture capital firm that works with thousands of local media outlets across the United States to provide startups, local media organizations and investors with unique and outsize value.
