Say hello to your next secret weapon!! This is an original composition using 32 presets in 4 minutes All synths, fx, and even some sequences you're hearing are generated solely from carbon electra (this doesn't include dynamics, panning, or eq). Drums were added with a custom 909 kit. Carbon Electra is a powerful analog emulation synth designed for ease, keeping all controls onboard the front panel with no sub menus. It's soundscape is incredibly vast, complex, and capable of producing extreme dirt and grit while maintaining high fidelity. SPEC RUNDOWN -4 syncable oscillators featuring adjustable pulse width, frequency modulation, and unison -all 4 oscillators include square (pulse), ramp, triangle, and sine waveforms, plus a noise generator -6 filter types with 3 saturation settings, 2 envelopes, and 3 lfo’s -both the oscillator mixer and filter provide realtime visual feedback -fx include chorus, delay, phaser, distortion, and an eq section -editable step sequencer capable of complex polyrhythms and expression -800 factory presets, including artist expansions from the likes of Carl Cox, Mike Huckaby, Timo Garcia, and many more. FORMAT & COMPATIBILITY -osX 10.7 or later in AU and VST 2.4 formats -Windows 7SP1 (Direct2D) or later in VST 2.4 format -not currently Apple silicon native, but mostly functioned on my M2 mac mini -64 bit only -automation and external midi control worked as expected I have a tough time describing the general temperament of a synthesizer as widely ranged as Carbon Electra. the overall sonic character reminds me a lot of the Access Virus B hardware synthesizer. I was drawn to several patches that were perfect for acid and all things classic rave, but that's not to say it's at all lacking modernity. Wether you see Carbon Electra's GUI as intelligently minimalistic or overly-simplistic, the fact remains that it delivers a mix-ready sound with an extremely low CPU footprint. It manages to output a punchy and full on post-modern signal by letting you overload the amp section before hitting the optional limiter. While I have nothing but great things to say about this synth's sound, I did run into a couple of stability issues. On an older Mac OS, I frequently experienced DAW crashes in Ableton Live. Keeping in mind that Apple silicon is not yet supported, I also ran into a bug with the latest Mac OS. When exporting audio with Live 11, synced parameters reverted playback speed and ignored tempo changes. Carbon Electra's current list price is $79, but it's often deeply discounted and on sale for around $29. Get your 14 day free trial version at: www.pluginboutique.com
