What Is a Trinity Study or 4 % Rule ?

In this video I explain the “everlasting money formula” :) Basically what i mean by that is how much money can you withdraw from your portfolio and at what annual rate, so that you never end up without money in the same portfolio. In 1998 three professors did a research on the subject and came up with the conclusion and the number which is consider the safe withdrawal rate. The research was done on Trinity university hence its called a Trinity study and another popular name is “The 4% rule” as 4% is the number that historically was proven safe % of withdrawal. There are few more conditions that needs to be met before we can say that you are safe to withdraw the 4% annually and that is that you have to have specific portfolio made of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. The 4% rule is also used to calculate how much money you need to retire, how long will that money last you and it all depends on your spending habits.
