The increasing prevalence of addiction in our communities has increased the urgency of ensuring behavioral health programs are available in our FQHCs. This session will review Behavioral Health service providers and billing. We will give particular attention to reconciling Substance Abuse treatment with our mandate to be “primarily Primary Care” facilities. We will review Medicare eligible providers and contrast them with those eligible with (most) state Medicaid agencies. We will review the behavioral health services available to Medicare patients and how to bill for them as FQHCs. Claim scenarios and detailed information for billing behavioral health services alone or in conjunction with clinical services will be provided. We will draw focus on the Behavioral Health services available as part of Medicare Care Management services. Participants will leave this session with a broader understanding of Behavioral Health services in and FQHC and how to appropriately bill them.
