Featherbed Moss from Crowden, Peak District National Park - 15th October 2023

Another early morning sunrise walk, this time to the summit of Featherbed Moss in the Peak District National Park. It was the coldest morning of the season so far with ice and frost. The dogs and I set off from Crowden car park at 6am in the dark. We headed along the Pennine Way, but instead of heading towards Laddow Rocks, we turned left at the memorial forest and ascended the moorland to reach Lad's Leap. From there we headed north via Hollins Clough to reach Featherbed Moss. We made it a circular walk by returning via Laddow Moss, Laddow Rocks and Oaken Clough.
