First time riding the CBR600RR at SMSP! Best time was a 1:59 Running 2018 Dunlop Q4s so wasn’t pushing to hard as the grip wasn’t convincing. Escaped a lucky high side turn two when it was raining and a couple of low slides when it was drying. Should have fresh Supercorsa SC2s for the next event! Decent amount of time to be made up as I struggled with a few things. Throttle control needs a-lot work. With the Domino quick action throttle, the white ring was way too aggressive and made it difficult to accelerate out of corners. The green ring was a lot more progressive however requires a lot more rotation. Will need to adapt to a different style in holding on while twisting. Struggling to get my foot under the gear shifter, might need thinner boots. Heading into turn two from 5th to third is a-bit sketchy when your boot doesn’t fit under in the linkage. A quick shifter would be very beneficial as my hand can’t keep up! It was the last session of the day and we were doing 20min stints so quite a lot of errors and fatigue setting in.
