Setting H-Braces: Learning the Hard Way on Our First Fence

Amber and I started installing the fence posts for our new H-braces on the fence line we’re redoing. Everything was going smooth… until I snapped a shear bolt on the post hole auger while digging the very first hole. After a quick emergency run to Tractor Supply, we got a replacement bolt and got back to work. Daylight ran out, so I headed back out the next day to continue the H-brace and set the next post. I did miscalculate just a bit, so one of the posts ended up slightly off center — not a big deal, but definitely a learning moment since this is the first fence I’ve ever built.
