Roma is celebrating the early arrival of the monsoon in Goa with her friend Mandy in Arpora. And since we’re going north, we thought why don’t we visit this place called Vinayak in Assagao which so many of our viewers have recommended to us Vinayak is located beside fields in Assagao, Bardez, North Goa. We are coming from the Arpora side on the road going from Parra to Assagao. At this crossing, the left goes to Anjuna and the right to Khorlim, Mapusa. Vinayak is 700 meters ahead of this crossing. At the end of the fields on the right is Vinayak Be careful of where you park here. You have to park in the restaurant’s space and not in front of shops on this narrow road. Vinayak is quite full of holidayers who got caught in Goa’s early monsoon. They will get to see the beauty of Goa in rains Vinayak is a women-owned, family-run place, simply decorated/ Vinayak is quite a large space. Seems very popular indeed. The tables by the field are so nice The full range of fish might not be available in the rains. But these thalis look very good indeed Today we're having one kingfish thali, one chonak thali, one prawns thali and two veg thalis. And one plate teesrio sukha (shellish dry) Jaya and I tried this mild bottled GOAT Qfeni cocktail The veg thali had dal, white channa, raita, vegetables (beans), sol kari, batat kappa, chapati, rice and papor. The fish plate had prawns curry, crab xacuti, teesrio (shellfish), Goan bhaji, kismur, sol curry, rice, salad, and fried kingfish/chonak/prawns Dal is very tasty. It’s like home made. This is why we eat thalis, guys. Because the food is like home made. Beans bhaji is very good. Little boring. The teesrio sukha is too good The curry on the fish plate has big fat prawns. Fantastic curry. Shellfish also fantastic. Kismur is great. Fried kingfish is perfect. So what we’ve heard about Vinayak is true. The food is really good They came soon to ask if we want more curry or dal or rice. This is why thalis are so economical In dessert we tried Serradura, Bebinca, mocha coffee pudding, Salted butter caramel and Hazelnut ice cream flavours. Everybody loved the desserts Vinayak has been here in Assagao for 13 years. The owner is Ujwalla Rajesh Govekar. It is a Goan women-owned business Vinayak was packed when we were leaving. Almost every table was full Lovely place. Definite must-visit Music by: https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/?...
