Episode 2: Fuji City to Lake Yamanakako 🚴‍♂️ Day 2 takes us from Fuji City through the Five Lakes region - winding through forests, quiet villages, and ending the day at Lake Yamanakako, with the majestic Mt. Fuji as our backdrop. As usual, #Komoot guided the way, taking us off the beaten path to some scenic routes (and a few fun detours, as always). We cruised along rice field irrigation canals, village roads, and forest trails - even passing through the edge of Aokigahara Forest! We stopped for a hearty lunch at a local ramen shop (that also served a bunch of other Japanese dishes), had a few vending machine breaks, and grabbed some dessert at a farmer’s market. The day wrapped up with an incredible 20km downhill - pure joy on two wheels - before rolling into Lake Yamanakako for the night. Tired legs, but the perfect mix of adventure, views, and good vibes. Definitely one for the books. This series will follow the full Tokyo - Fuji loop, plus a couple of bonus rides in Tokyo. Expect weekly episodes full of food stops, scenic roads, misadventures, and maybe a few surprises from Mt. Fuji himself.
