Figment is an Action-Adventure Puzzle RPG, it was released in 2017 for a number of platforms. It was developed and published by Bedtime Digital Games for PC but had various other publishers depending on the system. SO! after playing the game for about an hour, what did I think of it? let's see. Story: Going on what I get from the beginning cutscene story and what happens at the beginning is that you are in a car crash with your family and something happens to your mind, it seems to have split. I'm not entirely sure if you are playing inside the kid's mind, the mother's mind, or the father's, that will probably become clear later in the game but I am going to go out on a limb here and say it feels like the father's mind. On top of that, it seems the mind is being invaded by creatures that's stopping your mind repairing itself, so your main task is to claim back control of your mind's faculties. A weird story but it's original, or at least it is original in the sense i've not personally played any other RPG with a story quite like this. Graphics: Figments art style seems to be completely hand-drawn that gives it a kid game feel, it's quite quirky, surreal and an unusual take graphics wise for an RPG, there's not many games done in this style, this makes Figment very unique. Animations on things such as platforms, skills, movement of monsters and the character you play all seem very nicely done. The art for the game's icons suit the game well also, meaning that many RPG games tend to not use same style in icons like the art used for locations, towns, zones, etc. Sound Effects/Music: The sound effects are all nice and suit what it is that is being done at that point in time, like a swipe of your sword, or picking up of an item, activating a puzzle or switch, etc. The game's music is just really great, it seems the game has one specific song playing but slightly changes or gets added to if you near a musical instrument. At certain point, like sliding down things, music changes to a rock sounding music with someone actually singing lyrics which was a really nice touch. This game's OST really IS a great OST listing, you should listen to it all if you get the chance to. Puzzle Elements: The game has puzzles in it in the form of switches, placing certain items onto different objects, or moving one item to another location to advance, its all pretty simplistic in design and pretty easy to figure out, other than that one spot in the video gameplay where I headed all the way back for no reason at all. I'm all the puzzles to me felt a little too easy and kinda was a letdown for me, I didn't play to the end of the game but I am wondering if the rest of the game's puzzles are exactly like the ones I had done. Over All: The game is a really nice hand-drawn Action-Adventure RPG that will keep you busy for a couple of hours. Do the game have any replay value? i'm not really sure, i've heard the game only has 1 ending but can't really confirm that as of yet and also I have read that the game is quite short. Would I recommend this game? ONLY if it's on sale, I wouldn't recommend it at it's full price, I just feel it's not worth it. It's a great small unique game with a fantastic OST that will certainly entertain you for a while but if the puzzles stay as easy as they were for me in my hour or so play then I can see it getting quite boring and generic very quickly. ---------------------------------------------------------------- If your interested in trying this game out then you can find it on STEAM here.. https://store.steampowered.com/app/49...
