This unit was being transported to the Rail Propulsion Systems Fullerton, CA location for followup testing. This locomotive, an F59PH, was built over 20 years ago and outfitted with a Blended After Treatment System, or BATS, to comply with Tier IV and California's low pollution standards. This conversion was done in 2015. For more information: http://railpropulsion.com/latestnews/ With the recent addition of Siemens Charger locomotives being put into service in Washington and Oregon, AMTK 503 was being deadheaded to Beech Grove, IN for possible overhaul. This locomotive, a GE B32-8WH, otherwise known as a Dash 8, was built in 1991 and has been in service on the west coast on the Cascades and Coast Starlight trains.
