East Midlands Intercity 125/HST Compilation 2018-21 | END OF THE ERA!!

Another chapter within the history of the Intercity 125/High Speed Train/Class 43 has come to its conclusion. First Great Western Railway with their long-distance journey then East Coast and now, East Midlands have retired their sets from passenger services. Operated by several companies over the last forty years, from Intercity to Midland Mainline operated by National Express then East Midlands Trains operated by Stagecoach before finally finishing in 2021 after last being operated by East Midlands Railway ran by Abellio. The Paxman VP185 engines these units ran on made the best sound and clag to many after the engines made by Valenta were replaced. They have operated services mainly between London and Nottingham along with limited extensions to Leeds. To pay tribute to them, here is my compilation of shots I had taken of them over the last three years, simply as between May 2018 to May 2021; a mixture of Paxman VP185’s, Buffed MTU sets EMT retained from Grand Central and Red sets received from LNER when the latter retired their sets at the end of 2019. Taken from different locations across the Midland Mainline network along with stations on Leeds branch of East Coast Mainline. Hope you all have enjoyed riding these sets as much as possible and let’s hope that their successors, the Hitachi Class 810’s can live up their expectations when they come into service in 2024.
