Released on Mother's Day 2014, this short film features Jungian Analyst, Psychiatrist, Author and Activist Jean Shinoda Bolen, and her 2013 book publication Moving Toward the Millionth Circle Energizing the Global Women's Movement. Bolen has been a longtime proponent of the power of women's circles with a sacred center to change the world and bring about planetary healing on all levels. The book was first launched at a Pre-Event book launch for the 56th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) in support of a Fifth World Conference on Women (5WCW). There, Bolen gave out 2000 copies of her book to women from all over the world who agreed to distribute these books to 15 women each in order to grow, multiply and energize the global women's movement, still underway and gaining momentum. At a time in history when the world is rattled by the unlawful kidnapping and sale of 200 school girls in Nigeria and a grassroots social media campaign to save these girls from the terrors of child marriage and worse, the hashtags #BringBackOurGirls or #BringOurGirlsHome are an attempt to pressure the Nigerian government to take stronger action to rescue these young girls. Please share this clip with mothers, daughters, sisters and your circles of friends as far and wide as possible. Never underestimate the power of one woman and one voice to make a difference, and also what Bolen refers to what it means to be given "an assignment." We each play a part in multiplying the spiritual and political energies needed to reach a critical mass and tipping point that someday, will bring about new norms and a long-awaited end to the patriarchy that has wreaked so much havoc for centuries.
