This weird landscape is one of my favourites due to the visual geological history and tectonic features that pop out around here since Iceland is just the part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (Reykjaneshryggur) that happens to be above sea level. The tour ends by "The younger Stampar crater series" formed in the Reykjanes Fires in 1210–1240, the last major volcanic/tectonic series of events on the peninsula before the ongoing unrest started in 2020.
