P&O Britannia Caribbean Cruise ...

Next on our itinerary was the island of Grenada and the port of Saint Vincent.We had another P&O excursion booked ,it included a visit to the Annandale water falls . This excursion was not scheduled to leave until 1300.So we used the time in the morning to check out the port area . Like most of the ports once you leave the port area it becomes quite chaotic ,but its great to see the hustle and bustle and see how the local population go about their daily lives . We returned to the ship to gather our belongings for the trip ,we met our guide who was also the driver ,quite the character . We set off and climbed quite high into the centre of the island with the driver telling us lots of information as we went . First stop was at a black sand beach where we stayed for about 30 minutes, we were also given a drink of either beer or a rum cocktail . Then on to a National Park where we saw a monkey in the wild ,it must have been used to seeing all the people as it came down and was expecting to be fed . Our last stop was the Annandale Falls ,this was our highlight of the trip .Not the biggest falls we have seen but it still impressed us .You could actually get behind the cascading water which I attempted to do . As with all these trips another 30 minutes would have been perfect . On returning to the ship we enjoyed some time on our balcony before getting ready for dinner . Our evening was spent at the theatre to see Alan Frazer playing his alter ego Manuel Martinez which we enjoyed .
