In this video we see some trains and buses at Cannington, an interchange station on the Armadale & Thornlie lines in Perth's southeast. Here we mostly see Transperth A Series EMU's and buses including Mercedes Benz OC500LE CNG's and Volvo B7RLE's with Volgren CR228L & Optimus bodies. We also see a Renault PR100.2, among the oldest buses still running in Perth. Cannington station opened in 1897 on the line to Bunbury. The current station was built in the early 1990's when Perth's railway network was electrified. Today the station serves as an interchange station where the Armadale line & the Thornlie spur split off. All trains on the line stop here; a typical 'C' stopping pattern from Armadale stop all stations to Cannington, run express to Oats Street & Claisebrook before stopping all stations to Perth. A typical 'T' stopping pattern from Thornlie stops all stations to Perth except for Beckenham. The station is also a large interchange point for bus services with 13 bus routes serving the station. This is my first video to be uploaded on my recent 4 night trip to Perth, Western Australia. With a population of just over 2 million people, Perth is Australia's 4th largest city.
