Winter is an excellent time for running canyons in the Virgin River Gorge and on this particular day, we decided to descend Cherry Canyon since it had been a couple years since we had been down it. Totaling 16 rappels on this trip, we did have to replace webbing on two of the anchors. Quite a few of the anchors are Dead Man Anchors (Cairn Anchors).We inspected every anchor before descending and it's highly suggested to evaluate every anchor in this canyon (every canyon) before the start of a rappel.
