Thornton Hough Village Walk | The Wirral | English Countryside | 4K

On a spring afternoon overlooking the countryside we begin this gentle walk around the lovely village of Thornton Hough on The Wirral Peninsula in England. As we make our way down the quiet country road and after passing a lovely house with an attractive garden we come to a row of beautifully charming cottages with their black timber framing, white fences and perfectly tended gardens. Crossing the road we come to the 1st of 2 churches that this lovely village houses. All Saints church is a Grade II listed building with a rectory alongside and beautiful views from the grounds out to the cottages and village green. Turning back along the church we head up the winding narrow road which leads past the parish hall to a row of sandstone terraced houses complete with a turret at the end. This building is also listed and the turret and attached building, once the village stores, are now used by local businesses. Across the road and past the red telephone box we pause to look back towards the turret and the local country pub, the Seven Stars. We then continue along past the 2nd beautiful church of St. George with our path taking us around the entire building. The descending side with it's lovely spring daffodils is also lined by beautiful houses of red brick and half-timbered mock Tudor. After looking back up towards the country pub we continue along the main village road passing more delightful houses and cottages some with spring flowers adorning the outside. At the end of the village we come to the large black and white building of the old smithy and farrier. We finish our walk by making our way back across the main road to the large village green and stopping overlooking a row of more beautiful houses and cottages, the lovely pavilion and the backdrop of this charming traditional English village.
