A quiet start to the day at home. Opening the window, making a simple bowl of oatmeal, and preparing a fresh smoothie. Sometimes the best mornings are the slow ones. Recipe for today’s breakfast is below. Oatmeal Bowl Ingredients • ½ cup oats • 1 cup water or milk • 1 banana (sliced) • blueberries • flax seeds • honey (optional) Instructions Cook oats with water or milk on the stove. Stir occasionally until soft and creamy. Pour into a bowl. Top with banana slices, blueberries, flax seeds, and a drizzle of honey. Layered Berry Smoothie Ingredients First Layer • 3 frozen beets • ½ frozen banana • 1 cup raspberries • 1 cup pomegranate juice Yogurt Rim (Garnish) • ½ tablespoon coconut yogurt Second Layer • 1 cup strawberries • 1 cup pomegranate juice • 1 tablespoon lime juice Final Garnish • Fresh raspberries Instructions Prepare the first layer. Add the frozen beets, frozen banana, raspberries, and pomegranate juice to a blender. Blend until smooth. Prepare the glass. Using a spoon, lightly spread about ½ tablespoon of coconut yogurt along the inside rim of the glass. Pour the first layer. Slowly pour the blended smoothie into the glass. Blend the second layer. Add strawberries, pomegranate juice, and lime juice to the blender. Blend until smooth. Add the second layer. Carefully pour the strawberry layer on top of the first smoothie layer. Garnish.
