This is Part 6 of my 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo (951) repair and restoration series, and things finally start going back together — at least that was the plan. In this video, I reinstall the intake manifold, fuel rail, and air flow meter (AFM) on my Porsche 944 Turbo. On paper, this should be a straightforward reassembly step… but reality had other ideas. I quickly hit a snag with a new Kroon wiring harness. The rigid PVC sleeve near the AFM connector makes proper routing extremely difficult, especially in an already tight engine bay. That problem is compounded by thicker aftermarket vacuum lines and tubing, leaving even less room than stock. These are the kinds of speed bumps you run into when you move away from factory-original parts — better materials in some ways, but less forgiving when it comes time to install everything cleanly. To make matters worse, I’m under pressure to get this car finished. I’ve had a recent run of bad luck with my fleet, and right now the RS5 is the only thing running properly. No pressure, right? So the big question becomes: 👉 Is this too much for a 100% Certified Amateur to handle? If you’re restoring, repairing, or modifying a Porsche 944 Turbo / 951, this video shows the real-world challenges that don’t always show up in manuals or forum posts. 🔧 In This Video Porsche 944 Turbo intake manifold reinstallation Fuel rail and injector setup AFM (Air Flow Meter) reinstall Kroon wiring harness fitment issues Aftermarket vacuum line clearance problems Real-world reassembly challenges Preparing for the next phase of the build 📺 Watch the Full Series This is Part 6 of the Porsche 944 Turbo repair & restoration series.
