Welcome to Japan Photo Explore. Today I'm on the island of Hokkaido, on a beautiful winter walk through Hokkaido's second largest city, Asahikawa. I'm here a couple of days before the Asahikawa Winter Festival, so I'm walking from JR Asahikawa station, through the center of the city, then through snowy Akiwa Park to the riverside site of the festival, where Ill be photographing snow sculpting and festival setup.
